Bullies by Chris Baker
(A story of Adolescence)
Backed up against the wall with your arms covering your head
With every hit that penetrates you wish you were dead,
Pushed there a second ago your eyes shut tight
Huddled on the floor they have the advantage in height.
All you can do is tense
And wait for the next hit
You cant take any more and you start to shake.
Its pumping through your body, this is something your mind cant take
Theyve pushed you too far this time
You have to rise to the bait.
As you rise you can see the shock in their eyes
All those rumours they spread all those dirty lies.
The rage boils up inside you,
Your eyes fall on the closest
You curl your fists and hit him your hardest.
He falls to the floor in shrieks of pain
You can feel the hot blood pumping through your veins.
As the blood pours from his nose
You turn to his friend and get into an attack pose,
As you strike him the others start to close in
You feel a sharp pain in your chest and find it hard to breathe in.
This pain is intense, its the worst youve ever felt
It is a lot more than the bullies have ever dealt.
As you double over your vision starts to blur
This is it, you cant feel anything.
Silence draws in
